What is Marbelustra Cultured Marble?

Cultured marble, also referred to as manmade marble, is a type of fabricated cast polymer that resembles marble. Cultured marble is a mixture of polyester resin and ground marble or limestone. It is a less expensive alternative to natural marble, provides more tensile strength, and because is made with a molding process it allows greater design flexibility than with stone. For instance, manufacturers of cast polymer can make a bathroom vanity virtually any shape or size with integrated bowl (or bowls). 

What are the benefits of using Marbelustra?

The cultured marble surface is sealed with a gel coat and is sanitary. It is stain resistant and a low maintenance product. Tub and shower walls have no grout lines which helps prevent leakage and mold and mildew problems. Installation of cultured marble products is not too difficult for the individual who is experienced in home repair projects.

Can my Marbelustra product be cut or sanded?

If you need to remove some of the product this can be easily accomplished by using a belt sander with a coarse sanding belt or a power hand saw with a masonary blade.

Can Marbelustra be used as floor tile?

While Marbelustra may be used for numerous applications at this time floor tile is not one of them.
